It's
a Promise
By William Pelrine Jr.
Saint Paul was a great man. Everyone
should be more like Paul the apostle. Paul
didn’t know Jesus Christ in the flesh. Christ
revealed himself to Paul after He was resurrected from the dead. That
was how Paul came to know Christ in a personal way. He
knew the Lord through the spirit.
Jesus’
disciples knew Jesus in the flesh before He was crucified. We
aren’t able to know Christ in the flesh. But
I believe, through much prayer, meditation and bible study, like
Paul, we can get to know Christ through the spirit too.
I
have discovered we can have access to the spirit of Jesus Christ
24 Hours a day, seven days a week. Having
access to The Holy Spirit is a promise from Jesus himself.
As
Jesus said (in the gospel according to John 14:16, 17a, 26)* “…I
will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be
with you forever—the Spirit of truth… the Counselor, the Holy
Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all
things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”
I
believe this to be true because it has happened to me. Just
as Paul received the promise 2000 years ago, you can too.
When
this promise is granted to you, you need never feel alone again. “…God
has said, never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
(Hebrews 13:5)*
Are
you lonely? Are you ever afraid? “…God
has not given us the spirit of fear: but of power, and of love,
and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7) The
Holy Spirit of “Jesus
Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews
13:8)* He was there for Saint Paul the Apostle. He’s
there for me. I
believe He’s there for you too.
Are
you a Christian and feel you haven’t received this promise of the
Holy Spirit? Jesus
said, “If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in
prayer.” (Matthew 21:22)* “Ask
and it will be given to you…” (Matthew 7:7a)* Ask. It’s
a promise.
