 Ask
Ask
          By William Pelrine Jr.
 “It doesn’t hurt to ask.”
I’m sure everyone has heard that expression.  The Holy Bible
puts it another way.  As Christ said in the gospel according to
Matthew, chapter 7, verses 7-11, “Ask, and it will be given to you,
seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who
knocks, the door will be opened.
“Which of you, if his son asks
for bread, will give him a stone?  Or if he asks for a fish,
will he give him a snake?  If you then, who are evil, know how
to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father
in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!”
 As a Christian,
I believe the above verses apply to us when we need to be forgiven
for something bad we’ve done.  If what The Holy Bible says is
true, we can ask God for forgiveness for our sins and He will give
			it.
If we ask God for forgiveness, what is He going to do?
Give us a lump of coal?  Would He say, “Here, my son, have a
snake.”  No!  He would give us forgiveness (especially if
			we confessed that sin).
According to The Holy Bible, in 1 John
1: 9, “If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us
our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
 In James 5:16
in The Holy Bible it says, “confess your sins to each other, and
pray for each other that you may be healed.”
 We might as well
admit it, we all have sinned, for in Paul’s letter to the Romans
chapter 3, verse 23, he writes, “…all have sinned and fall short of
			the glory of God.”
I believe that if we ask God for forgiveness
			he’ll give it to us.
May the peace of God, which transcends all
understanding, keep your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
