Original Gospel Song
Jesus
Comes
By William Pelrine Jr.
This is an original gospel song The Lord gave me that was intended to be a Christmas Carol. The chorus is from my favorite Psalm, Psalm 63, copyright 2013 William Pelrine, Jr. (Only the music and original lyrics are copyrighted.)
Jesus Comes (lyrics)
Verse 1:
Long ago a babe was born, Jesus is Your Name,
You would lead
the gentile folk far from Satan's game,
Prophets told Your coming
two thousand years before,
Many souls were healed, You they
worship and adore.
Verse 2:
Scripture says that You were born, in a stable lay,
From a
virgin and from God, so the angels say,
Oriental kings we're told
brought frankincense and gold,
Though you were rejected, Your
sheep came to Your fold.
Chorus (Psalm 63: 1b-3):
My soul it thirsts for Thee oh God,
my flesh it longs for Thee,
In a dry and weary land, where no
water is,
To see Thy power and glory, so as I have seen Thee in
the sanctuary,
Because Thy loving kindness is better than life,
my lips shall praise Thee.
Verse 3:
You're the light to all the world, You can never die,
Hypocrites would seek Your life, You they'd crucify,
God's one
Son would go to hell and raise the saints of old,
You took them
to Heaven, their souls they had sold.
Repeat Chorus several times (I love this Psalm. It speaks volumes to me.)
