Image descriptionGood Prayers

By William Pelrine Jr.

Since I began praying and reading The Holy Bible over 20 years ago, I've prayed many prayers and have learned many good scriptures that have blessed me and I credit with much of the healing that has taken place in my life. I want to share some of my favorite ones with you on this website. Pray all these prayers in Jesus' name and praise God, your prayers will be answered.

I have to thank Dodie Osteen, who wrote, "Healed of Cancer", for giving me many of the scriptures and prayers I pray daily and have posted on this website. Ms. Osteen was given just a few weeks to live many years ago after being diagnosed with liver cancer. She gives God the glory for her healing and still quotes many scriptures daily and shares the ones she loves the best in her book.

Another great read is The Prayer of Jabez, by Bruce Wilkinson. He has written other books that I have enjoyed over the years. Its a short book crammed full of God's wisdom.

The Jabez Prayer
And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, "Oh , that You would bless me indeed, and that you would enlarge my territory, and that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!" So God granted him what he requested. (1 Chronicles 4:10) (NKJV)

PHILIPPIANS 2:13: God’s will—healing—is working in you.
For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
I say this prayer most every day, “God, You said that You are working in me.  You are working in my body both to will and to do for Your good pleasure.  Father, You are working in my mind, renewing it.  My health is Your good pleasure. I pray this in Jesus' Name.  Thank You. Amen.”

MATTHEW 8:2,3: It is God’s will for you to be healed.
This scripture says that when the leper came to Jesus, he said, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” And Jesus said these simple words, “I am willing; be cleansed.”

Prayer: “Father, I’ve been wrong because I didn’t know it was the devil who made me sick.  I’ve been blaming You, and I’m sorry for it. I release this bitterness to You, Jesus. Forgive me.”

EXODUS 23:25: Serve the Lord and healing will be yours.
"So you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water.  And I will take sickness away from the midst of you."
Every day and many times before meals I say, "Father, I thank You that You have promised to bless our bread and our water and to take sickness away from our midst."

Matthew 8:17 says, "He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses."
Every day I pray, "Jesus, I give this care and heartache to You. It's too much for me. I give this sickness to You, Lord. And I thank You that by Your stripes I and healed!"

JEREMIAH 30:17 God will restore your health.
For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds.
I always have to remember that the Lord has done a lot of healing in me over the course of my life so everyday I pray, "Father, I thank You that You have restored health to me. In Jesus name I pray. Amen and amen."

Prayers From the Scriptures

Philippians 1:6
Daddy, help N_____ to know that You who began the good work within him/her will keep right on helping him/her grow in Your grace until Your task within him/her is finally finished on that day when Jesus Christ returns, thank You, in Jesus, Amen.

Philippians 1:9-11
Daddy, help N________ overflow more and more with love for others, and at the same time keep on growing in spiritual knowledge and insight.  Help N_______ to always see clearly the difference between right and wrong, and to be inwardly clean, no one being able to criticize him/her from now until our Lord returns. Help him/her always do those good, kind things which show he/she is your child, for this will bring much praise and glory to You, thank You, in Jesus, Amen.

Colosssians 1:9-12
Daddy, help N_____ understand what You want him/her to do; help him/her to be wise about spiritual things; help him/her so that the way he/she lives will always please and honor You, so that he/she will always be doing good, kind things for others, while all the time he/she is learning to know You better and better.
Fill N_____ with Your mighty, glorious strength so that he/she can keep going no matter what happens---always full of Your joy, and always thankful to You who has made us fit to share all the wonderful things that belong to those who live in the Kingdom of light,  thank You, in Jesus, Amen.

Ephesians 1:15-21
Daddy, thank You for N_____’s strong faith and for the love he/she has for Christians everywhere. I thank You for him/her. God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, give him/her wisdom to see clearly and really understand who Christ is and all that he has done for him/her. Flood N_____’s heart with light so that he/she can see something of the future You have called him/her to share. Help him/her realize that You have made him/her rich because we who are Christ’s have been given to You! Help N_____ begin to understand how incredibly great Your power is to help those who believe in You. Let him/her know that it is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at Your right had in heaven, far, far above any other king or ruler or dictator or leader… Yes, let N_____ know Christ’s honor is far more glorious than that of anyone else either in this world or in the world to come, now and forever, thank You, in Jesus, Amen.

Ephesians 3:14-19
Daddy, when I think of the wisdom and scope of Your plan I fall down on my knees and pray to You, the Father of all Your great family—many of them already in heaven and many down here on earth—that out of Your glorious, unlimited resources You will give N_____  the mighty inner strengthening of Your Holy Spirit. Help him/her to make Christ more and more at home in his/her heart, living within him/her as he/she trusts in You. Help him/her to make his/her roots go down deep into the soil of Your marvelous love; and make him/her able to feel and understand, as all God’s children should, how long, how wide, how deep, and how high Your love really is; and help him/her experience this love for him/her self, though it is so great, let him/her know he/she will never see the end of it or fully know or understand it. And so at last, fill N_____ with You Yourself, now and forever, thank You, in Jesus, Amen.

Dear Daddy, please add to Your church two types of people. The first type (and foremost) is those who are newly saved; the second is those called by You to labor with us in building Your church from house to house and reaching the unsaved, thank You, until Jesus returns, in Jesus, Amen.
